The straight thread swivel connection, known as NPSM, is a favorite among all connectors. The NPSM fitting allows existing NPT threads to be applied in a swiveling manner, provided the internal cutting of the male thread in chamfored.

NPSM swivel fittings come in many configurations including: straight connectows, 45 degree elbows NPSM connectors, 90 degree elbows, tees of various shapes and crosses.

It is common to combine a pipe thread NPSM terminating end with a SAE male
