BSPT (British Standard Pipe Tapered), JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard), 24 degree DIN, German Metric, French Metric, 12 degree seat, Peflex sealing and several other types.


Swivel metric adapters and swivel elbows both seal on the 24 degree conical seat, or conical seal. The 12 degree metric compression fitting seals by the bite ring and closed power flux.


British fittings may seal either by the chamfored end (cone seal), the special oring and washer combination or the Europower peflex seal (shoulder seat). When choosing a BSP, or BSPP fittings, the way the fittings seals is important to know. Fittings designed to seal on the chamfored end via a conical mating half will not work with most oring seal types, and the ends are usually not chamfored out.
