For decades, the increasingly common metric fitting has been used in hydraulic systems such as machines and agricultural equipment.

German machines that have metric threads and ports may be adapted to american NPT and SAE standards by way of metric to inch adapters, or BSP to american adapters.

Many of the conical and peflex oring metric seals are standards that HFI manufactures and carries. Metric thread pitches measured in millimeters are easy to convert by way of a union fitting that encompasses both threads on each end.

JIS, or japanese flare fittings, are essentially BSP threads with a 30 degree flare seat. The japanese flare fitting differs from the JIC standard by this measure as well and the 7 degree difference in flare angle.
